How do Samsara users file IFTA reports in TruckLogics?

Manually entering the distance traveled and fuel purchased in each jurisdiction in order to file your quarterly IFTA reports is tedious and time-consuming. With TruckLogics’ Samsara integration, clients can directly import the truck and trip details recorded in the ELD devices, such as miles traveled and fuel expenses, into their TruckLogics account. Once imported, clients can generate their IFTA reports with ease and accuracy.
Step 1:
Sign into your TruckLogics account.
Step 2:
From the “IFTA” tab, choose the tax year from the dropdown menu and click “Get Started” under the quarter you wish to file for.
Step 3:
To import trucks from Samsara, click ‘Add Truck’ and select "Import from Samsara".
Step 4:
To access Samsara, login with your Samsara email and password.
Step 5:
Choose the trucks that you want to import into TruckLogics and click 'Import'. If any of the listed trucks already exist in TruckLogics, merge them using the unit number to avoid duplication. Learn how to map trucks from Samsara
Step 6:
Click “Proceed” to confirm and import the trucks.
Step 7:
The imported trucks will be displayed and are now in your TruckLogics account. Choose the trucks that you’d like to file an IFTA report for and click “Next”.
Step 8:
To enter the distance and fuel data, the TruckLogics application provides four data Import options.
- Upload Data in Bulk: Use the TruckLogics IFTA Excel template to bulk upload data.
- Quick Entry: Manually enter your data for each truck.
- Pull data from Motive: Import data from a connected Motive account.
- Pull data from Samsara: Import data from a connected Samsara account.
If you want to import distance and fuel data from your Samsara account, then click the “Continue” button next to “Pull Data from Samsara”.
Step 9:
The imported distance and fuel data will be displayed, and is now in your TruckLogics account. You can view the jurisdiction traveled and gallons purchased next to each entry, and can edit the data if needed. Click “Next” to continue generating your IFTA report.
Step 10:
The IFTA summary report will be displayed. The total distance and fuel consumption details will be displayed. Click “Next” to proceed.
Step 11:
Select the responses for required options from the reports and click “Save & Continue” to proceed.
Step 12:
Your IFTA tax due and penalty details (if any) will be calculated and displayed. Click “Next” to proceed.
Confirm the Tax Summary by clicking on ‘Next’.
Step 13:
Any errors will be displayed so you can fix them before proceeding. Once you’ve resolved the errors (if any), click “Next”. If there are no errors, you can proceed by clicking "Next".
Step 14:
Enter payment details and click “Confirm and Pay” to generate your IFTA report.
Step 15:
Your IFTA report will be available for download. Click “Download IFTA PDF” to download the IFTA PDF report.
